The city government of the Village
of Briarcliff provides administration for the three
subdivisions. The Briarcliff Property Owners Association (BPOA) owns and maintains the roads, parks and lakes located in the Briarcliff Subdivision. On the right side of this page is navigation to the BPOA Board of Directors and Committees, the Community Center, builders' packages, etc. |

BRIARCLIFF PROPERTY OWNERS ASSOCIATION Started 1968 Governing System: · Nine member board of directors elected by property owners · Committees made up of all volunteers · Employees include two administrative persons and two maintenance persons BPOA: · Concentrates their efforts within the BPOA area and property owners (residents, non-resident home owners and vacant lot owners) within the subdivision · Owns and maintains the roads (approx. 22 miles), parks and recreation areas including 5 interior lakes · Enforces deed restrictions · Enforces architectural rules regarding construction |
VILLAGE OF BRIARCLIFF Incorporated 1984 Government: · Type A General Law Municipality · Aldermanic plan of government with no wards · City council consists of 5 council members elected at large and a mayor (All Volunteers)Employees include a city administrator, chief of police, water & waste water system operator, city clerk and assistant · Village of Briarcliff has its’ own court using a touring judge. The Village attorney is the prosecutor City Limits include BPOA subdivision area plus an area north of Cat Hollow. Responsibilities: · As a Texas municipality, health, welfare & well being for all Village of Briarcliff residents including owners and tenants · Water system for entire Village plus some residents outside city limits · Household trash removal · Waste water system for selected residents north of Cat Hollow (Currently being significantly expanded) · Law enforcement accomplished by a police force in conjunction with Travis County Sheriff’s Department · Zoning and ordinance enforcement – including new home construction inspection system |
